How the online classroom works

We teach live on Bobbin, our online classroom. There is nothing to install: your child joins with one link, either from their TutorCruncher dashboard or from the email we send an hour before each session. Your child joins from a laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone.

  • Join from a laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone
  • Nothing to install, just one link
  • A shared online whiteboard for working through problems together
  • Live video and audio with the same teacher every week
  • Notes from the session stay available to look back on afterwards

Online GCSE Science questions, answered

Do you cover Combined and Triple (Separate) Science?

Yes, we cover both, at Foundation and Higher tier. Tell us your child's school and route and we will place them in the right group.

Which exam boards do you cover?

We cover all the main GCSE and A Level science boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. Tell us your child's school and board and we will match the teaching to it.

What does my child need to join?

A laptop or tablet, an internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and somewhere reasonably quiet. We teach live on Bobbin, our online classroom. There is nothing to install: your child joins with one link, either from their TutorCruncher dashboard or from the email we send an hour before each session. Sessions have live video and audio with an online whiteboard, and notes from the session stay available to look back on afterwards. Headphones help, but plenty of students manage perfectly well without them.

Are online sessions live or recorded?

Every session is always live and interactive, never pre recorded. Your child sees and talks to their teacher in real time, works through problems together on a shared whiteboard, and asks questions as they go. It is the same teacher every week, just delivered down the line. For safeguarding, online lessons are also recorded and shared only with the student and Rose Tuition.

How much does online tuition cost?

KS3 and GCSE online groups are £25 per session for sixty minutes, and A Level groups are £35 per session. One to one online tuition starts from £70 an hour. Your first group session is free, so your child can try the teacher and the format first.
