One to one questions, answered
How much does one to one tuition cost in Nottingham?
One to one tuition starts from £70 an hour, whether the session runs online or at your home. The price covers a qualified teacher, planning around your child's specific gaps, and regular feedback to you. We confirm the rate in writing before anything begins, so there are never surprises on the invoice.
Are your one to one tutors qualified teachers?
Yes. Every tutor we match you with is a qualified teacher with classroom experience in the subject they teach, and every one holds an enhanced DBS check. Danny vets each of them personally using safer recruitment checks, so the person sitting with your child has genuinely taught the specification.
Do you teach online or at home?
Both. We teach live on Bobbin, our online classroom. There is nothing to install: your child joins with one link, either from their TutorCruncher dashboard or from the email we send an hour before each session. Your child joins from a laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone. Sessions have live video and audio with an online whiteboard, and notes from the session stay available to look back on afterwards. At home sessions are available across Nottingham and the surrounding areas, subject to a teacher being free in your part of the city.
What subjects can you cover?
Maths, English and the sciences are our core, and we also match families with teachers in humanities, languages, business, computer science, economics, further maths and entrance exams including 11 plus. We work from a vetted network, so if we cannot find the right person for a subject we will tell you straight away.
How quickly can you start?
Most families have their free consultation within a few days and a first session within a week or two. The timing depends on the subject and the slot you need; unusual subjects or narrow availability can take a little longer. We will always give you an honest timescale at the consultation.
Can we switch between one to one and a group?
Yes, and plenty of families do. Some start one to one to close a gap quickly, then move into a small group to keep momentum at a lower cost. Others do both, with a group each week and occasional one to one before a mock. Just talk to us and we will rearrange it.
