From the lab, to the classroom, to here
I started out as a biomedical scientist. I loved the science, but what I really wanted was to help people understand it, so I retrained as a teacher and spent years in the classroom raising results in Science across Nottinghamshire.
I was a science teacher. Now I run Rose Tuition, full time, here in Nottingham.
Why I started it
Spend any time looking at tutoring and you notice something: a lot of it is delivered by students, or by people who have never actually taught a class. Good intentions, but not the real thing. I wanted to build the opposite. The kind of teaching I'd want for my own son, from people qualified to give it, that families could trust without a second thought.
That's what Rose Tuition has been since I founded it in 2024, and it's grown the way I hoped, through families telling other families.

Qualified teachers, always.
Every tutor holds Qualified Teacher Status and has taught in a real classroom. No exceptions.
Small groups, capped at 10.
Big enough for momentum, small enough that no one gets lost.
The same teacher, every week.
Relationships and consistency are how progress actually happens.
Personally vetted by me.
I interview every tutor myself, with enhanced DBS checks and safer recruitment. Nobody teaches for Rose Tuition that I wouldn't put in front of my own son.
Reputation over everything.
We grow carefully, because a good name is the only thing worth having in this work.
Rooted in Nottingham
We teach in the city centre at Nottingham Girls' High School, at our flagship centre in Kimberley, and live online for families further afield. Local, personal, and proud of it.
Where we're heading
The goal is simple to say and hard to earn: to be the most reputable tuition provider in the East Midlands. Not the biggest, the most trusted. Every decision we make is measured against that.
